How does a beeswax candle differ from an ordinary paraffin candle?
Beeswax is a natural material made by bees. Paraffin is made from crude oil. Beeswax candles have a naturally warm colour and a gentle scent of honey, without any need for added fragrance.
Why has a white film appeared on my candle?
A fine whitish film is a natural occurrence with pure beeswax. It is neither mould nor a flaw. Just buff the candle lightly with a soft dry cloth, or warm it briefly with warm air, and the surface will glow again.
How long does a candle burn?
Burn time depends on the size of the candle, the thickness of the wick and the surroundings — in a draught a candle burns faster and unevenly. We give an approximate burn time with each individual candle.
How do I look after my candle properly?
Trim the wick to about 5 mm before each lighting, burn the candle out of draughts and never leave it unattended. You will find a detailed guide on the Candle care page.
Is a candle suitable as a gift?
Yes. A handmade beeswax candle is a personal and useful gift that will delight at Christmas, on a birthday or as a thank-you.
How can I order candles?
We are preparing our online shop. Until it opens, please do get in touch via the Contact page.
Where does the beeswax come from?
I get pure beeswax through a beekeeping shop near Pardubice that is connected with local beekeeping.
