How our candles are made

A beeswax candle cannot be rushed. Follow the journey with us, from wax to finished candle.

  1. Preparing the wax

Beeswax is warmed slowly and gently. Too high a temperature would take away its colour and scent, so there is no hurry here. Before it is worked, the wax is cleaned of tiny impurities.

  2. Choosing the wick

The wick must suit the diameter of the candle. One that is too thin will drown in the melted wax; one that is too thick will smoke. The right choice is the foundation of a candle that burns calmly and evenly.

  3. Shaping

Beeswax candles are most often poured into moulds, or rolled by hand from thin sheets of wax embossed with a honeycomb pattern. Both call for a sure touch and precision.

  4. Cooling and maturing

The wax needs time to set completely. Only then is the candle taken out of the mould, levelled and its wick trimmed.

  5. Checking and wrapping

We inspect every candle before it is wrapped. We pack it by hand in natural materials, so that it arrives safely and brings joy from the moment it is unwrapped.
